Some brief comments and observations.
First though the Total Points Standings. With six weeks behind us and eight in front of us I think there are legitimately eight teams that could still win this title. The other two really need to get hot and pour out the points.
| Rank | Team | Points Scored | Ponits Behind |
| 1 | The Reckoning | 973.20 | – |
| 2 | FNG | 960.66 | 12.54 |
| 3 | Finkle & Einhorn | 942.40 | 30.80 |
| 4 | Dinamos | 910.56 | 62.64 |
| 5 | Devils Snare | 894.58 | 78.62 |
| 6 | Offsides Mother F***! | 847.84 | 125.36 |
| 7 | Big Daddy | 838.64 | 134.56 |
| 8 | Sloppy Sparrows | 831.72 | 141.48 |
| 9 | Anal Explosion | 737.18 | 236.02 |
| 10 | Sleepy Squad | 692.66 | 280.54 |
- After six weeks of play we have one undefeated team and one winless team. Finkle & Einhorn are 6-0 and have the second lowest points scored against them. They also have the third most points scored. That’s a nice combination.
- On the other end of the spectrum are the Sloppy Sparrows. They’re 0-6 and have the most points scored against them. Offensively they rank 8th in points scored. Looking for their first “W” they could use a little more offense and a little less points scored against them each week.
- The past three weeks Big Daddy has had an average of 166.8 points scored against them. That is only topped by the above mentioned Sparrows who are getting blanketed with 169.47 over the same time frame. The Reckoning evened their record at 3-3 by winning their last two games despite having 160.29 points scored against them the past three weeks.
- Anal Explosion is sitting on a 4-2 record. They are also ranked 8th in total points scored. The 4-2 record is probably explained by an average of 121.93 points scored against them the past three weeks. That’s the lowest average scored against in the league.
- The elephant in the room this year is the amount of injuries. Just before kickoff of the Thursday night game I took a look at the rosters. This is what stood out to me.
Sloppy Sparrows: 1 player on IR-R, 5 Q’s
Dinamos: 1 player on IR, 1 player Out, 5 Q’s
Devils Snare:1 player on IR, 3 Q’s
Sleepy Squad:1 player on IR, I player unsigned, 2 Q’s
FNG: 1 player on IR, 1 player Out, 1 player Doubtful, 2 Q’s
Offsides Mother F*****!: 1 player on IR, 3 Q’s
Big Daddy: 1 player on IR-R, 1 player Out, 3 Q’s
Anal Explosion: 2 players on IR, 2 Q’s
Finkle & Einhorn: 1 player on IR, 1 player on IR-R, 3 Q’s
The Reckoning: 1 player on IR, 1 player on IR-R, 1 Q
I’ve seen teams and had teams that have been besieged with injuries before, but I’ve never seen it like it is where every single team in the league has a player on their roster on the IR. When you take into account those listed as Out or Doubtful, you’re talking about several teams with multiple players unavailable to them on game day.
I don’t expect anything to change mid season, but I think it’s time to start a discussion of adding another IR spot to our rosters.
I don’t know all the nuances of the Yahoo platform, but maybe the second IR can be designed such that should an owner place a player on it, said player must remain for a minimum amount of time. The only way they could be removed is by activation after the minimum time or out right dropping them.
In the meantime, I’ll keep breaking out my “Lucky Fantasy Football Shirt” each Sunday and telling Fantasy Karma what a beautiful goddess she is.
