As I start this write up this week I realize that I really can’t think of anything to focus on. I could focus on some of the stupid penalties that have been called. Most notably the one on Cam Skattebo who was flagged for a personal foul while running with the ball through the line running over a defender who was trying to tackle him. I’ve seen the replay a number of times and can’t for the life of me figure out why he was flagged. But then talking about penalties brings to mind that on Saturday the Tennessee Volunteers lost as time was expiring by a field goal to the Gamecocks of South Carolina. In my mind that game was actually a blowout win for Tennessee except for the THREE touchdowns called back because of penalties. Tennessee has a bye this week and I just don’t want to think about it.
I do hear that gamecock tastes like chicken though.
Last week, I suggested that we start a dialogue about opening up a second IR spot, perhaps with added restrictions. The injuries this year have been so bad that our Commissioner said, “Restrictions be damned!” And set up a second IR spot. Okay, I made up the “restrictions be damned” part. But I think we all owe our Commissioner Big Daddy Sean a little gratitude for acting quickly!
Thanks Dude!
As far as our league goes, we no longer have an undefeated team. Finkle & Einhorn was upended last week by The Reckoning. F&E’s record still tops the Jay division at 6-1 however. FNG sits atop the Silent Bob Division also at 6-1. Sadly for Rory we still have one winless team. Just two weeks ago our only two winless teams faced each other. At that time Sleepy Squad came out on top. The Sloppy Sparrows are looking to even the score during this weeks rematch
There was some movement in our most points race. The Reckoning and FNG swapped spots with FNG climbing back to the top while holding back The Reckoning by less than 10 pts. Finkle & Einhorn remains in third place. The Dinamos slid down one spot to fifth, while Devils Snare moved up to fourth.
Here are the current standings
| Rank | Team | Movement | Pts Scored | Pts Behind |
| 1 | FNG | Up 1 | 1139.46 | – |
| 2 | The Reckoning | Down 1 | 1129.82 | 9.64 |
| 3 | Finkle & Einhorn | – | 1083.40 | 56.06 |
| 4 | Devils Snare | Up 1 | 1058.76 | 80.70 |
| 5 | Dinamos | Down 1 | 1034.04 | 105.42 |
| 6 | Offsides Mother F***! | – | 1009.58 | 129.88 |
| 7 | Big Daddy | – | 990.98 | 148.48 |
| 8 | Sloppy Sparrows | – | 947.72 | 191.74 |
| 9 | Anal Explosion | – | 867.78 | 271.68 |
| 10 | Sleepy Squad | – | 830.18 | 309.28 |
Last week I said that I thought the top eight teams probably still had a legitimate chance to win this race. This week there appears to be a little more separation. I think the cut off now is the top seven teams. This is still fluid and it is bye week season, so this could very well change on a dime.
Despite that fact that halloween this Saturday, the village I live in scheduled it’s trick-or-treat for the kids this past Sunday from 3p – 5p. Since I no longer have to work Halloween night taking numerous reports of candy taken from the kids at the hand of the bigger kids, who quite frankly were assholes, I get to pass out candy. And while doing so, I like to have fun. Below is how I passed out candy this year.
GO VOLS!
