The rundown will be brief this week. I spent over 13 hours protecting democracy yesterday by working the polls on Tuesday. My day began with a 0445 wake up call and I didn’t get home until almost 2100 hours. I then spent the next 5 hours watching election results. Today I took advantage of a very low wind stream and spent a few hours blowing the neighborhood leaves off my lawn. I’m definitely too old for this shit and will be snoring early tonight.
Two weeks ago I said better days would be coming for Anal Explosion. That continued this past weekend as AE clipped the wings of the Sloppy Sparrows, and is now on a two game winning streak. Joe was so confident that he started a bye week kicker and still won. Rory’s birds were cursed with a bye week for SF forcing the Sparrows to sit QB/Purdy and start QB/Young, who put the word “sloppy” in the team name. Devils Snare snagged the most points for week 9 and defeated the Dinamos in the process. Either team could have won this game as the original projection had this a low scoring and close affair. But both teams outscored their projections with Nick’s guys scoring more than Igor’s guys. Prior to kickoff Finkle & Einhorn was projected to get the W over Sleepy Squad. Somebody forgot to tell Brandon that. With the exception of RB/Chubb the Squad wasn’t sleepy at all. Mike’s team was hit with some in game injuries which only guaranteed the “L” for him. The game between Offsides MotherFudger! & Big Daddy stayed pretty close to the original projection with one exception. The projection had the “W” for the Big Daddy but in reality it was OMFer! going home with the “W.” Jeremiah’s offside mothers were paced by 37 points from WR/Smith-Njigba. Asked for a comment after the game Sean said, “he lined up offsides the entire game!” Right up until game time The Reckoning was facing a loss based on pregame projections. However FNG’s GM played fast and loose with some last minute lineup changes and it came back to bite them in the ass. What could have been a win by a margin of .78 points instead turned into a loss.
This week The Reckoning tries to keep the Sloppy Sparrows wings clipped. At the end of the weekend I feel both teams will be have 6-4 records. Big Daddy will try to be the just the third team to take down Sleepy Squad. Not sure how it will come out, but bye weeks leave the squad with very little choices on fielding a lineup. Finkle & Einhorn looks to snap a 2 game losing streak against FNG who themselves hope to get back to the win column. One of them will be disappointed. The leagues two 3-6 teams square off this week. Early projections show Devils Snare staging the W over Anal Explosion who has a full lineup this week. Anything can happen. Offsides MotherFudger! “should” get the win over the Dinamos. Injuries could derail that “should” if a couple of Q tags get downgraded for OMF’ers! And I know Igor has other ideas for this game.
