I’m not sure why, but all day today I thought it was only Wednesday. Imagine my surprise when I realized that it actually was Thursday and hadn’t taken a look at our roster or lineup yet! I think I’ve been watching The Weather channel to long.
Regardless, here we are with 36% of the schedule behind us. For about half the league a 5-4 win/loss record over the next nine games more than likely earns a playoff berth. Games this past week were pretty interesting with three of the five pretty dang close.
None was closer however than the trap game between Devils Snare & The Reckoning. Sources tell me that Reckoning front office personnel were optimistic last Thursday after thrice cast aside former phenom WR/Mooney scored 31.5 points. No-one knew about the trap set in the name of WR/Chase with 41.3 points. In the end the trap snared The Reckoning by 1.46 points. Well played Nick, well played!
There was a battle in the Ioffee family between father & son. Son prevailed this time, but just barely. Sleepy Squad held on to get the better of the Dinamos by a mere 2.36 points. Igor (the father) was paced by QB Cousins’ 31.36 points. I think the father was probably counting on more points from flex RB/Allen. Allen’s 3.8 points were the result of WR/Wilson’s 29.1 points for Branden’s (the son) team. The son’s team was also paced by QB/Mayfield’s 20.4 points. Yes, that Baker Mayfield. I can remember when the son was hustling cash from me after he manned the manual draft board for us in (this league’s DNA) The NCFFL. Times have sure changed.
Our final close game had the two teams separated by 3.46 points. Both teams had two players each who scored north of 20 points. In the end it was probably the injury to RB/Jones that hung the loss on FNG. Fantasy Karma was with Big Daddy this week who was awarded the win despite K/Grupe hanging a goose egg.
Offsides Mother Fuufuu! returned to the win column with an explosive 24.28 win margin over Anal Explosion. QB/Lawrence paced AE with 20.24 points. That was answered X2 by OMF’s QB/Jackson’s 29.42 points and WR/Thomas’ 23.20 points.
Our biggest beatdown this week was a 40.44 pounding of Finkle & Einhorn (or is it Einhorn & Finkle?) at the hands of the not so Sloppy Sparrows. Don’t look now, but the Sparrows are starting to get their shit together and find themselves in 4th place in the most points race. Their weekly scores are reminiscent of last years point explosions. The rumor mill spit out this week that F&E are bringing in a new medical staff for tryouts in an effort to keep the roster healthy.
Good luck this weekend. And good golly, No. More. Injuries!
