Seven weeks down. Seven weeks left. Halfway through the regular season. Anyone with a 5-2 or better record is probably sitting in the drivers seat for a playoff spot. Right now that is only one team. And the record is 6-1. Five other teams are at 4-3. Two teams 3-4. Two teams who have 3 wins between them. Devils Snare has 2 of those wins. This past week, they were the one’s who were snared. Their opponent, Big Daddy was trailing the entire weekend. The “W” was only handed out Monday late in the desert when QB K Murray blessed Big Daddy with 20.20 points. But the snare trap set by Devil S backfired. QB R Willson tossed up 22.86 pts for Devils Snare. The final score had a separation of just .06 pts, they get the “L”. Had Wilson thrown just for two more passing yards, Devils Snare would be 3-4 today instead of 2-5.
A second game this week had a point separation of just 2.4 points where The Dinamos took the lead late Monday night with a late TD from RB B Irving sending The Reckoning in search of answers. The biggest reason is because of an injury to The Reckoning QB J Daniels on the opening drive of the game. Another factor is that QB CJ Stroud screwed over The Reckoning two ways with his putrid point total of 5.34. And pouring two fingers of (my favorite) bourbon, Makers Mark into your eyes WR T Dell dropped a TD pass in the end zone on Houston’s opening drive. Dell finished the day with Z. E. R. O. points. ZERO! ZIP! NADA! Sigh… I could talk about Dinamos WR D Smith and his 0.80 points keeping it close. But this is my blog and I’m doing the writing.
Can you pour me another please?
Underdog FNG let a winnable game get away from them at the hands of Offsides MotherFoolyou! by a score of 107.66 – 99.99. FNG was let down by QB M Stafford, WR C Sutton, & WR J Jeudy. The game score was close only because Offsides MotherF had an issue with QB A Dalton, WR J Reed, WR D Samuel, & K D Hopkins. Samuel ended up in the hospital before the game with pneumonia. I’ve had pneumonia. That shit is nasty!
Earlier I mentioned two teams had 3 wins between the two of them and mentioned Devils Snare having two of those wins. That leaves Anal Explosion with just one lone “W” for the season. I have a theory that Joe is setting us up. He’s got the rest of us right where he wants us and will begin his ascent to a playoff spot. But last week it was Finkle & Einhorn in a tune up win for a rematch this week with The Reckoning. Anal E lost by 34.3 points but help is on the way. QB Tua T should be back this week. His return should also boost production for WR T Hill. And everyone expects TE T Kelce to break out any week now. F&E’s 165.70 points was paced by RB’s J Mixon, J Gibbs, & K Hunt. They had a combined 80.7 points. I’ve already gone over the week 8 projections and its not a secret that The Reckoning may be facing their own reckoning this weekend.
The BIG showdown this past weekend turned out to be a whoop ass! In this case Sleepy Squad put a whoop ass on the Sloppy Sparrows. Brandon’s Sleepy Squad went nuclear for a league season high 205.10 points! That kind of point total is something I expected to see come from Sloppy Sparrows. In looking over all the players point totals I’m not sure what Rory could have done differently to pull out a win. The Sloppy Sparrows now have week 12 circled on the calendar. Brandon continues to get great production from QB B Mayfield, yes that B Mayfield. Early on this season Sleepy Squad battled through some injuries, but right now they probably have the healthiest roster in the league. They also have something else no other team in the league has. And that’s a record with only one loss. They’re sitting in the drivers seat on the road to a playoff spot. And before any of you go looking at the schedule to see who handed out their lone “L”, I’ll tell you, “They lost to The Reckoning.”
Good Luck this week. I’m not even going to plead, beg, pray for no more injuries. I’ve come to realize that it’s a futile exercise as Miss Fantasy Karma doesn’t give a damn!
